Dayton Daily News: Standardized rules could lift cheerleading’s status

September 6, 2010 By Spirit Company

Dayton Daily News published Standardized rules could lift cheerleading’s status.

The “future” might come sooner than many expected. Two prominent national organizations — USA Gymnastics and USA Cheer — have plans to establish standardized rules designed to help competitive cheerleading become a legitimate sport.

That is good news for proponents of the activity, despite the judge’s ruling that labeled competitive cheerleading as “too underdeveloped and disorganized.”
