I learned a great deal about what it’s like to be disciplined and rehearse. We rehearsed for eight hours a day every single day and I was a full time college student. To be able to have that kind of foundation going into Hollywood was fantastic.

Cheer Channel Releases World Premiere of New Webseries “On The Mat”

(CCI), the #1 online news and entertainment network for the spirit industry, announced the world premiere of its new original webseries, On the Mat, hosted by Makenzi Swicegood. The first of the bi-weekly episodes is now available for viewing on the CheerChannelNetwork YouTube channel, CCI website, and Cheer Channel Facebook page. The premiere episode of the series introduces viewers to Swicegood and what to expect in upcoming episodes. Makenzi is a natural to host the show. She was a three-time Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and member of the first ever Worlds Gold Medal team with Cheer Athletics, and is currently the director and coach of Level 3 at Cheer Athletics in Plano, Texas. She is also the step-daughter of Jody Melton, co-owner of Cheer Athletics Inc.

On the Mat is the first ever show that will take viewers behind the scenes in the world of cheer gyms, their owners and coaches, what it takes to be successful and profitable, and how to avoid the common mistakes and pitfalls of running a competitive team. The show will feature “Gyms of the Month,” exclusive interviews, coaching tips and techniques, human interest stories, webinars, teleseminars, and follow athletes on the road to Worlds.
